The Borno State Ministry of Health and Human Services held a five-day workshop from 14–18 September 2026 at the Grand Pinnacle Hotel in Maiduguri, supported by LAFIYA funding. The workshop focused on developing and costing SMART activities for the 2027 Health Sector Annual Operational Plan (AOP), using the Health Sector Strategic Blueprint framework and the web-based AOP tool.
Our team provided technical support through the following activities:
- Led a session to review key gaps from the previous AOP cycle, helped participants address recurring challenges, and highlighted lessons.
- Supported MDAs in refining their Situation Analysis to ensure priority issues were clearly reflected in the 2027 planning process.
- Guided stakeholders in aligning priority interventions with the Health Sector Strategic Blueprint.
- Assisted planning officers in developing SMART, well-costed activities and mapping government and partner resources using the web-based AOP tool.
The workshop strengthened participants’ capacity to produce a coordinated, well-costed, and actionable 2027 AOP that aligns with Borno State’s health sector priorities and supports more effective planning and implementation.
