The aim of the Annual Operational Plan in the States is to strengthen health budget planning and public financial management (PFM) capacity of State Ministries of Health and relevant agencies and departments, including Local government areas. CHECOD in collaboration with other partners supported the development Annual Operational Plans in targeted LGAs in each State in line with National AOP Framework. This is to ensure that national primary health care strategic priorities are translated to LGAs’ health budget proposal, implementation, and performance reporting. Kaduna, Kano, Borno, and Yobe State health sector in collaboration with partners hosted a 2-Day workshop to review the 2022 AOP and identify priorities for 2023 AOP. The workshop was chaired by representatives from State Ministry of Health, DMS, CONAM, CHAI, DRPC, HDS, State Contributory Health Management Authority, State Primary Health Care Management Board, and PHIMA. During the workshop, CHECOD assessed performance of the 2022 Annual Operational Plan (AOP) activities implementation of Ministry of Health and its agencies. The two days review created pathway for the development of 2023 Annual Operational Plan and introduce participants to the National Annual Operational Plan (AOP) Tool.
