The CHECOD team, serving as the technical lead, recently participated in the Core Team meeting for the technical review of Nigeria’s Health Sector Annual Operational Plan (AOP). The meeting, attended by the Directorate of Health Planning, Research & Statistics (DHPRS) of the Federal Ministry of Health—aimed to enhance health sector planning and implementation.

Key Objectives Achieved:
✔ Reviewed the 2025 AOP implementation processes, documenting lessons learned—including successes, challenges, and gaps at federal and state levels.
✔ Assessed partner alignment and funding commitments for the 2025 AOP to ensure sustainable execution.
✔ Evaluated findings and the zero draft report of the 2025 National AOP (federal and state).
✔ Proposed actionable recommendations to address gaps and improve the 2026 AOP development process.
✔ Presented the digitized AOP tool for technical team feedback, enhancing planning efficiency.
✔ Reviewed the costed Health Sector Strategic Plan (HSSP) documents to align priorities with budgetary needs.
